Win, Lose, or Draw??

In relationships, what's a win?
Is it when you are able to be with the one you love?
or is it when you've found someone you love, no matter if you can be with him/her?

If the answer is anything but the first one, then why is it that I always feel a sense of lost, despite the fact that we remain as good friends?

Maybe it's the lost of hope. Hope is what gives one happiness. Not only would one have happiness with hope, but hope would also give one purpose and strength to live life. Without it, one would have no direction in life. This would continue until a new sense of hope is found. But where can one find hope?

For me, I've gone from hopeful to hopeless. .. again. The feeling of a lost of hope has left me with a strong sense of emptyness. For me, the only way to fill this emptiness with hope, is with a past hope. If successfull, I may return to a state of hopeful and have a sense of desire to grow and the strength to do so. However, the downside of this is that the return to this hope, may destroy me, because as one becomes too involved in a hope that is yet to be achievable, one may become illogical or even self-destructive. When the realization that the hope must be let go and to allow emptiness to set in, the emptiness may be greater than the previous. It would drive me to live forever in the past, never able to see the present nor the future.

Hope is an element that will be forever with us on our mind's desire, until the day when we no longer live on this world. The constant agony of having hope on the minds of the people with filled with emptiness has drive many to their deaths. Therefore, to hope I say... "... in death will us part."

One Small Step For Me... One Giant Leap For My Career! =D

You know... it's true... in life, if you want something, you have to reach out and TAKE it!
This is especially true if you are going to be an entreprenure, even at the simplist level, when you are doing your own stuff.

One of the hardest thing to do when you're out in the business world (or working world) is to ask for more money. Why? Cause if it goes well, you get what you want... more money. If it goes bad... you can NO money! That's no additional pay nor your CURRENT pay! Scary eh? But sometimes you just got to take that step, especially when you are convinced you're underpaid. When you're planning it, it's hard. You'd think that you can never do it, or maybe even perhaps even that you shouldn't do it. But if you plan it well, it'll come through for you.

During your research, look at the industry's standard. Then compare it with your own and your job performance. And be VERY honest with yourself. If you are the type that's "slipping" in job performance, then maybe you shouldn't bring the highest researched price to your employer. But if you find that it's totally valid, then by all means, tell him/her!

The telling, or presentation, part of it is the most critical. The thing to remember is to be calm! Or as they say - "Don't lose your cool." If you have to argue for it, most likely, you won't get what you want. Tell your employer why you feel you're underpaid (without using that word) and remind him/her of what you bring to the company... or in my case, my client.

Happily, I've done all the things I can do to make this consulting job that I am doing, more worth while, despite the fact that I still hate fixing what other people may have done wrong to their computers. But hopefully now, it's more "bearable"! =)
