Brief Thought - 1
I know I had left off the last blog entry with a "part 1" ending.
But I'm sorry to say, i can't think of what part 2 is going to be like... maybe when I re-read the entire thing at a later time, I'll come up with it.
But for this entry, I just want to take note of something that I'm pondering.... in the movie Contantine, the angel Gabriel had said that He (or She as in the movie, it's an actress!) believes that mankind have the most wisdom and basically the strongest when they are in their worst situation. It is only through great pains where greatness of mankind is revealed. Now my question is... is this really true?
Now instead of looking at it at a macro level, which is studying world history... let's start small and look within ourselves and the people around us. Speaking from personal experience, I have found that at times, when I think of my greatest pain, it has sometimes pushed me to rise above all my temptations to be lazy and actually get some work done! (in a way, that's "rising above it all for me".) But sometimes, for some people, it is at these times where they realize their true abilities. Either to help people or even to help themselves.
However, the reason why had stopped using this method, was because it feels like that pain has lost its effect on me. Or is it just that when you experience a pain over time, it gets to be "normal"?
If that statement is correct, then it's pretty sad. Why must mankind only show its best when it is in great pain? What is the factor that is making us lazy or just not in our "peak" performance or making us weak emotionally?
So what's the point of all this? None.
I told you.. this blog is to record my thoughts... so this is what I've been thinking.
Feel free to comment.... if there are anyone reading this.
